There’s lots to celebrate this week: the start of Hannukah, the completion of several projects at work, the general feeling of gratitude during the holiday season. And of course, I’ve planned meals to match my festive spirit. So get out those pens, make your shopping list and get ready for a delectable week.

Note that I didn’t include pantry staples like butter, olive oil, baking soda, salt and pepper, etc. on the shopping list.

Grilled Hanger Steak with Caramelized Onions and Whipped Potatoes and Creamy Spinach
For the steak:
12 ounces of hanger steak
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon of fresh rosemary

For the onions:
2 small onions

For the whipped potates:
2 pounds brown skinned potatoes
Milk
White cheddar

For the spinach:
1 10 ounce package of spinach
Greek yogurt
Milk
Parmesan
5 cloves of garlic

Hannukkah Party With Applesauce, Latkes and Sweet Potato Beignets
For the applesauce:
3 pounds of firm, sweet apples
1 lemon
Cinnamon

For the latkes:
4 large potatoes
1 large yellow onion
1 egg
Flour
Vegetable oil

For the beignets:
Milk
Butter
Flour
2 sweet potatoes

Chicken and Chard Turnovers
1 very large chicken breast
Flour
2 shallots
Ricotta
Parmesan cheese
